Hi, I’m new to Plex and wanted to use it to run my media via my new Roku but am having getting started issues.
To explain, I have a Netgear ReadyNAS 212 downstairs with my movies and music stored on it. Upstairs I have a Roku plugged into my TV. To use Plex on my Roku/TV to stream content wirelessly from my NAS do I need to install Plex on any computer like my Mac laptop (which I have done but it won’t launch) or does it need to be installed on my NAS? (which I don’t know how to do).
Any help would be really gratefully received.
- Plex is there in my Roku/TV interface but it can’t find any media libraries on the network, which I guess isn’t surprising.
- I’ve been doing the same thing previously with a WDTV but want to switch to a new Roku. The WDTV had no problem finding my NAS on the network and streaming from it to my WDTV upstairs
