For a couple of months my instance of Plex Media server just stops. Sometimes it will complete the playing of a video before crashing, but the program and tuner will be gone as well as access to my computer video files. I removed the VPN, have gone through numerous attempts to restart the program or laptop (late 2013 MacBook Pro right now).
I examine the Plex icon on the task bar. If it’s not running I restart it and sometimes refresh the browser window. Sometimes the Server closes in less that a minute, sometimes in slightly longer time, but I didn’t do anything to it and there is no VPN running on the machine. I’m up and down all day, restarting the PC in my bedroom before returning to the living room’s TV.
If the server is still running I refresh the window. That sometimes fixes the problem and I can once again use Plex. Sometimes I end up restarting, shutting down, et al. I can’t find any parameters I have anywhere that would result in this shutdown of the server.
