Hi. I have TWO servers, one on an Nvidea Shield and one on my MacBook pro. The trouble started with. the last MacBook pro server update. The server shows up on the shield. I can select it. I can play a movie… but after about 10 or 15 minutes it just stops working! (The laptop is not going to sleep!) If I quit plex on the shield amd restart it, it comes back… again for only 10 or 15 minutes. Any suggestions??
Can you please confirm the version number of server on your Mac. Are you on the Public or beta builds? If possible can you provide the server logs
Sever version Version 1.41.7.9823
I downloaded the logs. It’s a folder with 133 items! I have to admit, I don’t know what I’m looking for. Maybe this?
Plex Media Server.2.log (1.3 MB)
There are 5 server logs. But ONCE I stopped it. It didn’t quit. So I sent #3. Sending more and i got “file was too big too attach” message.
The one with no number is the newest log and number 5 is the oldest. If you started it back up after crashed then #1 is the one you want. The #2 log you uploaded shows a manual shutdown. .
but it is generally better if you can get all of them for a bug report. The main server logs is not necessarily all info and could be another hat has what it was doing at time of crash. If after zipping them up they are too large to attach then you can put them on Google Drive or similar and give a link.
Try with a zip.

THANK YOU soooo much for trying to figure this out! If my response is delayed it’s not that I’ve lost interest, it’s due to the time difference. I’m in Madrid. THANK YOU!
it seems you’ve gone.
Same here, MacOS after updating to “1.41.7.9823”. Gone from being rock solid 24/7 to crashing randomly throughout the day.
Tried updating to beta “1.41.8.9834” but observed the same activity at least twice.
Not on any of the occasions did the logs indicate anything, just an End of File basically. (To my eyes at least)
Shutting down the server manually shows expected behaviour in the logs. Last log attached.

PLEX REALLY needs to put out an update or a way to roll back!!!
If on a Mac you can Roll back without going anywhere, Private Message me and I will show you how.
But this looks more like a Data base issue, use this tool and you will sort out your issue.
I already rolled back to 1.41.6.9685 since posting 3-4 hours ago and it’s been rock solid since. No more crashing.
DBRepair was one of my first stops, didn’t change a thing.
@nickysplex_gmail_com, to to roll back just drag and drop the PMS Icon in Applications to the Bin and Reinstall using “https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server-new/1.41.6.9685-d301f511a/macos/PlexMediaServer-1.41.6.9685-d301f511a-universal.zip”
See if that helps out in the mean time. (You won’t loose anything)
i too have rolled back
hey the server team is still looking into this. it seems to be happening to one of our employees running mac as well.
I’m happy to get you an earlier version of server if you would like. Just tell me which version you want. Plex Media Server - #679 by gbooker02
Thanks…I’ve rolled back to 1.41.7.9799. I found instructions online. Thanks! Hopefully though, you guys will update soon to resolve it.
