Plex Media Server unexpectedly quitting - troubleshooting help?

Server Version#: 1.29.1.6316

After a year or more of running without issues, I’m finding that Plex Media Server is quitting unexpectedly on my Mac Mini. I’m not aware of anything that changed before this started happening. Whenever I connect with one of my players (Android, Roku, Web), I find that I cannot access my media, then see that Plex is not running. I start the server, but eventually the same thing happens. I don’t know where to start with identifying the cause. Can any one provide some tips on how I might troubleshoot this?

I’m running my server on a 2018 Mac Mini with 32GB RAM and MacOS Monterey 12.5.1. In my Energy Saver settings, I have:

“Prevent your Mac from automatically sleeping…” - checked
“Put hard disks to sleep…” - unchecked
“Wake for network access” - checked
“Start up automatically…” - checked
“Enable Power Nap…” - unchecked

I also have it set to turn off display after 20 min, but with above settings that shouldn’t matter.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

This may not be the same issue; Is your plex server scanning music files at the time of stoppage?

I’ve found my plex server (I always install the latest Beta) crashes/stops Every Single time it scans music files; after i start plex server again; and force start the scan, it scans past the failure point and then crashes/quits on some other music files; it can be 5mins after the scan starts or 30mins after the scan starts; but it will/does crash/stop Every Single time.

Try examining yours logs as a starting point https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/
