When I connect to my Plex Media Server within my home Network, the Plex Player shows that the connection to the server is “indirect”. How can I fix this issue?
Check your computer’s firewall. Indirect indicates one or more of the needed ports cannot be reached and the entire connection is being routed out and back via plex.tv

Thank you very much. That was the solution. But it worked only after i choose to allow “non-secure” connection. Is that normal?
Also, as second question which is somewhat related, I have a Intel NUC that I have dedicated as a Plex Home Theater player. The NUC runs on Windows as well. Do I have to setup any ports on the NUC as well?
The reason for allowing non-secure is precisely those cases when the LAN client can’t establish the HTTPS connection (doesn’t support it). In the home environment, on encrypted Wifi or hard-wired , ‘allow non-secure’ or ‘preferred’ is fine…
Regarding the NUC, I do not have any setup information for that but I’m sure there’s something in the support pages . Also , there are many in use. If you search threads for “NUC setup” i’m sure you’ll get a lot of hits.
Thank you again.
