For kicks and giggles today, I uninstalled the server Deleted the Plex registry settings under software, hklm, forget now exactly. Then reinstalled. Since it’s random, won’t know until it breaks again. Probably by Monday. Since it’s happening to others, I’m betting it will still be an issue. Has to be some sort of token reauthorization issue on Plex side. Like others, been using this for 10 plus years and my issue started a couple of months ago as well. Cheers
So far over the weekend , I have not had the issue since uninstalling, deleting the application path, deleting the reg entires titled Plex. Keeping my fingers crossed
Jealous. This is still happening to me pretty regularly. Infuriating.
I’m also having this issue as of a couple months ago
My fix did not work and server access denied error until I rebooted. This needs to be correct Plex team
Dang, I just did a clean install last night and am hoping this problem doesn’t return.
I posted a very silly but functional workaround here…
I’m on a Mac, so I don’t think this will work for me. Bummer. Would something like this work in Terminal?
The Plex clean install didn’t fix this issue, sadly.
should be able to. just would need to find commands for macos to put into script and use a tool or another way to monitor the wake from sleep event. quick google search turned up Mac OS X: Automating Tasks on Sleep » Kodiak's Korner - My Little Corner of the Net but could be better solutions… especially from plex themselves…
Hey mate,
following back up on this. I’m still getting the “not authorized” message nearly every day. Did you ever get a chance to take a peek at the logs I posted?
Thanks!
