Hi, I just installed the latest version of Plex media server on my HTPC running on Windows 7 home edition. The media server is not visible on any devices on the local Wifi. The media server is visible and working fine on the Plex media player on the same HTPC. Apart from this, it is not connecting on any other device. Media server is visible on my Plex app on my Nexus 6P as well as my iPad but there is an error message with it saying direct connection unavailable. Also, the media server is not even visible on the Plex app on my sony bravia android tv. What could be the problem. Please Help!!!

Sounds like your network might be set to public mode. Change it to work or home and see how that goes.
Hi, it was on public mode…however even after changing to home mode , the problem remains…it was working fine with the earlier version of Plex media server, the problem began after I updated to the latest version.
Check the firewall settings and make sure Plex is allowed. If it was on Public before, the firewall may not have been setup properly. If you’re not sure how to set the firewall, you can repair the installation which should configure the firewall automatically for you.
