Plex media server not starting up with app

Server Version#: Version 4.8.3

Hi guys,I recently updated both my windows 10 and my plex versions and ever since I cannot access the media server for the files from my tv.

The app works correctly but I would usually go to the files directly via the media app on the tv and go through the Plex file directory.

I have tried the following:

  • Allow insecure connections: Always
  • Restarted Plex
  • Restarted PC
  • Uninstalled/Reinstalled Plex
  • Deleted all metadata after uninstall and reinstalled Plex

I have run out of solutions. Is there perhaps something that has changed after the update or is there a setting that I’m missing?

I’m not sure if I get the actual issue…
Are you using a Plex client or your tv‘s media player?
If you try accessing your PLex Media Server from a different player through DLNA…have you verified the Plex DLNA server is running (Settings > Server > DLNA)?

I was using my TV’s media player.
It seems that the DLNA was disabled after the last update.

Problem solved.
