Decided to try Plex Photos part of Plex with a view to replacing Synology Photos due to its problems with HEIC/Licensing, etc.
My Synology Photos library is currently @ 560 GB in about 70,000 files/600 folders.
When I setup the Photos library tonight, there was no way I was able to initiate the photo tagging feature that’s supposed to be available for PLEX PASS holders. (My Server’s PLEX Account screen shows that I have a Lifetime Plex Pass). I could add the system’s photo folder to the Plex Photos library (and make it accessable to Plex user and PlexMediaServer System internal user), but the option to initialise the phototagging feature was not available.
When I started viewing my photos in the Plex app I was somewhat disappointed. One of the things I would like to see added is the ability to zoom the photo via the mouse scroll wheel in the same way as the Synology Photos app. I would also like to see the ability to view photo metadata information. Maybe, I’ve missed these features due to unfamiliarity with the app?
