Plex Media Server stopped working after updating to version 1.42.1.10060 on my MyCloudEX2Ultra

I have updated Plex Server on my MyCloudEX2Ultra, and since the update I cannot reach the server. I have restarted the device, checked my connections and restarted my players. Nothing helps.

Is there a way to download a previous server version so I can test if an earlier version will work?

Make sure Plex Media Server is running. On some WD NAS, Plex Media Server may not auto-start after an update. See Plex inoperable after upgrade to PlexMediaServer-1.41.8.9834-071366d65-WDMyCloudDL4100_OS5.bin.

Then point a private/incognito web browser window at the IP address of the server.

For example, if the IP address is 10.1.2.3, use http://10.1.2.3:32400/web (you may need to use https).

See if you can login and reach server settings.

Note: If you changed your Plex account password, then your server is unclaimed. You will need to re-claim it before streaming to Plex clients.

I’m also running my Plex Server off my WD MyCloudEX2Ultra

My current version is 1.41.8.9834 which was release this past summer. I updated to that using the update button which in the MyCloud OS (same page you would see to turn the App On/Off)

I’ve never updated the app manually but with this recent email hack and Plex turning off the shared users function for the versions below 1.42 so now my friends are unable to access my server, just wondering if you could confirm your steps?

I’ve downloaded the 1.42.1.10060 from the Plex website for my WD OS version, I’ve turned off the app then hit the “Install New App Manually” to which a pop-up appears stating the that PlexMediaServer is already installed. Do I wish to re-install?

If I re-install from here, does that act like a normal updating a program where it keeps all the settings, cover pictures, backgrounds, etc. Or will I need to start from scratch again?

Then of course turning the app back on.

Any confirmation, advise or comments would be much appreciated.
