all my media has been converted and optimized for streaming and most
go straight to ‘direct play’ without the need to transcode.
all media is on a brand new ironwolf 14tb drive, running on a DS218+, connected
to LAN running at 1Gbps. yet when i’m in bed, i’m literally in the next room and
i’ll just get a busy signal when moving from menus or after scrubbing through a
movie/tv show.
the speed is totally unexceptable. the nas is advertised to transcode 4k media but
it cant even play, totally compatible, stream optimized media files, like WTF??!!!
my movies average around 5GB each, which is a fraction of the original file sizes of
20-30GB+
is the DS218+ just a ■■■■ nas box or is it something else?
help please.
