Streaming ALAC tracks in Safari (MacOs Mojave 10.14.6 & Catalina)
An error occurred trying to play “XXXXX”. Error code: s3014 (Media)
Can play mp3 songs in Safari.
Can stream ALAC tracks on my iOS device.
Need the full log ZIP please.
The statistics log is meaningless.

- Settings - Server - Troubleshooting (Left panel) - Download Logs
- Attach the ZIP file it gives you.

MP3 should play fine on Safai.

this is m4a (ALAC file) Plex Forums don’t let me upload audio file, i will upload it to some cloud and send you a link. Same error with all ALAC files not just one.

I am using an iPad Pro 2017 with safari on 13.3.1
I do not experience any playback issues.
I see where the ALAC → AAC conversion occurs (as shown below)
I can’t reproduce the manifest errors the player (your safari) is reporting using iOS Safari.
Can you attempt repeating on other Apple devices or with another browser on the Mac?
Sorry for the delay, i tried playing ALAC songs on Firefox on Ubuntu on MacBook Air, i can play songs, transcode to AAC.
I tried playing on 2 different MacBook Pros in Safari with 2 different OS (Mojave & Catalina) ALAC Songs don’t play.
Updated plex to version 1.18.5.2309, there are some improvements, when ALAC songs are played there is no error message, when i play the song it start to buffer but it takes a while for the song to start playing (I am playing in LAN) even after 50% of the song is buffered , and song is transcoded to AAC, no direct play.
I’m pretty sure the device profile is set for AAC because not all Apple devices support ALAC (remember the older ones have no iOS support for it).
I will check with engineering on Monday.
