TO ANYONE using the DSM 6-on-DSM 7 work around.

You must manually stop Plex.

Under DSM 7 , we no longer have root access. Only you can stop it.

  1. Stop it via your manual control.
  2. Wait for it to close the sockets and quiesce
  3. Start your install / startup normally. It will be able to start.
