I have lost my wits! I looked for any youtube info and none has worked. I uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple times. Even installed plex to another drive and still have issues. I do not know what went wrong as I have been using Plex for over 10 years. BUT! When I install my server account to my IMAC, it works fine. I hate my IMAC and refuse to use it as a server. Please help! Anybody? I know I sound desperate and thank you if you can assist.
Let’s start with what are you trying to achieve, what have you done and to what result/outcome/issue?
Can you post your server logs?
Hello, I have no idea as I have been dealing with this and looking for an alternative for the last month. I have deleted every file on my computer that referenced anything Plex and it still comes up after a new DL cannot access media data. It simply does not allow me to open my media. I am about to do a factory reset on my computer. It has come to that now. It’s almost like I have media elsewhere and my PC server cannot open it. Makes zero sense. I do thank you for reaching out!
I wouldn’t know where to begin as I have deleted and reinstalled it about 5 times. Thanks…
Without more details we cannot help you. in the Plex server logs (orange words are a link) article, it should provide a file path where you can locate the needed files. Please zip those up and post them to this thread.
I have the same issue, I deleted Plex completely and it will not reinstall and I get the windows error unable to open media database. Is it possible to give a log if app will not install?
Yes the installer should create logs.
Please zip the contents of %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Logs and upload them
I have 5 folders in the Plug-in Support file.
Caches
Data
Databases
Metadata Combination
Preferences
I scanned the entire folder for Logs and nothing showed up.
The logs folder should be 1 level up → %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Logs (not inside the Plug-in Support subfolder).
Ah thank you obviously I got my course in computerology at Trump U.

Looks like your database is corrupted – this can happen if the server (or host) are stopped/shutdown while Plex is busy writing to the database files.
You can attempt to repair the database (see linked guide) or start from scratch by removing certain files (assuming this is a new server or a repair didn’t succeed).
If you had enabled your server to create automatic backups of the database you could attempt to restore that backup (kind of a middle way).
BOOM!! I am starting over but that is what I wanted to do in the first place. Spring Cleaning
