Everytime I start the Plex Media app from my Mac mini dock, a dialog box prompts me that a newer version of the Plex Media app is available (currently 2.17…) do I want to upgrade. When I click yes, I get the install progress bar and then the error message attached below. What can I do to fix this error please?
This appears to be about the Plex Media Player (frontend)… not so much the Plex Media Server (backend).
Can you download the app from the plex homepage manually install it instead?

Thanks @tom80H you are right it’s the media player frontend. I can download manually but it’s just a pain if I have to do that every time there’s new release. Any reason why you think it’s causing this error message?
sounds like a hiccup of the installer – from what I can tell it rarely happens… and if it does, the manual install usually fixes it
