Hi everyone,
First of all sorry for my english, I don’t speak it very well so I used chatgpt to make a topic :
I’m experiencing a very frustrating issue on my PC: the Plex Media Server web interface (http://127.0.0.1:32400/web, localhost:32400, etc.) just loads forever and shows a blank white screen. No login screen, no dashboard, no error — it used to work perfectly on this same setup.
With the help of ChatGPT, I compiled a full summary of everything that has been tested so far:
System Info
- OS: Windows 11 (fully updated)
- Plex Media Server versions tested:
1.41.1.7695 (stable)
1.40.x (older)
1.42.x (beta)
→ None of them work: all versions result in the same issue (infinite loading), even after clean reinstalls.
What I’ve tried (all confirmed):
Fully clean reinstallation (uninstalled Plex, deleted AppData\Local\Plex Media Server, removed registry keys, rebooted)
Disabled Windows Firewall entirely
No antivirus software installed (only built-in Defender)
NordVPN was previously installed, but is now fully uninstalled
Browsers tested: Firefox, Chrome, Edge (including private/incognito modes) — same result
Flushed DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns)
Confirmed that port 32400 is open and listening (netstat -aon | findstr 32400)
Ran netsh interface tcp show globalto check TCP settings- It was ok
Tried using Caddy as a reverse proxy to serve localhost:32400externally → also resulted in infinite loading
Tested different network setups: switched from Ethernet to Wi-Fi, switched DNS servers, etc.
Checked Windows Hosts file — nothing unusual or custom there-
I tried to access via my smartphone using my local ip adress of my PC (192.168.1.17:32400/web), and I had something, so it’s seems it’s coming from my PC or windows, or something, I’m lost
Still broken:
- Plex Media Server launches fine and runs in the background
- But the web interface stays stuck loading forever — no UI, no redirect, no login
- Browser dev tools show no specific errors
- here are the logs :
- Plex Media Server.1.log (66.1 KB)
Plex Media Server.2.log (612.1 KB)
This issue only affects the local web UI. I’m completely stuck, and the fact that it worked before on this exact same machine makes it even more frustrating.
I just had a big windows update recently, but I don’t know if it’s the cause, because I don’t use PMS very often
If anyone has any idea or has faced the same situation, I’d be extremely grateful for your help ![]()
Thanks in advance!
