Plex media server won’t start after power outage

Can’t find my Plex media

I accidentally unplugged my external hard drives power supply. That was the hard drive connected to my shield for the Plex media server. I immediately plugged it back in. And now even tho I can successfully connect to the server from my pc my Plex app no longer can find my content. I rebooted the shield and didn’t fix it. I even tried the ip address/32400 and it just times out and says failed taking too long to respond… what can I do? Thanks

So after researching it seems common and yet power outages people have to setup there server from scratch. Wow is this really true?

A power outage can damage the Plex database. The Shield seems to be especially touchy about this so those were probably the posts you saw. If that happens, then yes, sometimes you have to start over

If you just disconnected the drive and the Shield never lost power, I would bet that’s not your problem

If you can connect to the server from your pc go into the settings and look under
library → Empty trash automatically after every scan

If this was enabled your library content may have been deleted from Plex when the drive got disconnected

Under library? I have the nvidia shield folder and then my movies and tv folder from there . I don’t know where to navigate to what you’re saying

When I say I can connect from my computer I mean on Mac I click finder and connect to server and the server is there showing all my files
