Plex Media Sever does not recognize series correctly

Server Version#: 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#:

I keep matching them manually and they keep reverting. I’ve added logs.

FYI, you can attach log files directly to the thread. Just drag the zip file into the compose window.

You need to follow Plex naming and organization recommendations.

See Your Media -> TV Show Files (Naming and Organizing)

  • Name shows correctly
  • Put each show in its own folder
  • Use Season XX folder for each season
  • Use correct naming for each episode: ShowName - sXXeYY.ext

After renaming/reorganizing, Plex Dance the entire show to clear the incorrect data from the Plex server database.

Many people use FileBot, https://www.filebot.net/, to assist with naming files. It has presets that conform to Plex recommendations.

Following Plex guidelines:

/series <-- TV Library points here
  /Belgravia
    /Season 01
      /Belgravia - s01e03.ext

Before I commit to that kind of change (please note content delivery on my setup is pretty much automated), can you please point out what the issue is exactly?

Because it used to work perfectly until two or three server releases ago, including with the shows mentioned here. And now it doesn’t work anymore even when I manually match the show to the correct tvdb entry.

My library actually points to the “/series” folder and sonarr does actually break down series in correct folders via symlinks on the ext4 parititon.

If I may add here?

I use Sonarr. I avoid symlinks and let Sonarr deposit the files into their final location.

  1. Media ends up where it really should be
  2. I am not left with a huge mess of files where they shouldn’t be after Sonarr is done and corresponding symbolic links which will break should I move the media files.

Hey ChuckPa, thanks.

What download client are you using for sonarr?
