So I’ve been spending an hour or so manually fixing meta data for a NOW 100 Legends. which is such a pain. The Metadata pulls through the track listings great, but it is pulling obviously wrong named tracks from other discs. The only link is the number of the track. I have tried a few things. 1) putting them in their own disc folders. This led to the meta data duplicating track names to wrong tracks. 2) adding 01- and 02- to the songs that should be on those discs. but this seems to be ignored completely.
Any idea why this is happening? The songs were ripped directly off the CD and have correct metadata on them. But plex just wants to randomly pick the first track 20 and have it as disc one, and name it incorrectly.
I’ve tried a few things but it seems to just like to mess up more.
Would you mind sharing how exactly the files are named / organized?
It appears Plex should be able to automatically get the metadata – though I seem to find two redundant releases listed on musicbrainz.org (which seem to be a duplicate):
According to the official naming schema for music, the following naming / organization should work. Don’t put the media from different discs in separate folders (from what I’ve seen, this might work if you rely solely on embedded metadata and have all the tracks of such a multi-disc album properly tagged).
