Plex movie card configurations

I find it ABSURD that there is no function in Plex to keep the choices such as poster, background, Title, Title sorting.

Having had to expand the space, I inserted other disks in the Nas and created a raid. I had obviously stopped the Plex server before doing everything. The shared folders remained with the same name in the same volume, and yet as soon as I made the raid and started Plex, I LOST ALL THE CONFIGURATIONS!
Thousands of titles to rearrange, choosing for many the poster in Italian (my language) and rearranging both the titles and the titles in the sorting.
Plex has the unfortunate idea of ordering the titles alphabetically ignoring the definite articles. For example, “The Departed” is listed under the letter D…
I had saved all the Plex folders, I also restored them by copying them over the others, but it was no use.
Everything is extremely frustrating! Plex should have a feature that can keep and lock choices, as well as remove backgrounds and posters that are not of interest. A feature that “locks” a movie card as soon as it is deemed perfect for what we need.

Creating the RAID might well have changed the underlying folder structure on your NAS (below the shares listed in the NAS‘s file station / manager).

If Plex is still looking for its config in the old paths, it might not have found them and considered this a new setup.

What NAS platform is this?

This is subject to a hidden setting which you can modify in the Plex server data directory (ArticleString)

@My_Tube depending on how long ago this happened you should be able to restore your database.

Plex does have the ability to lock fields, it shows up as a lock icon.

The NAS is a Terramaster F5-221 with TOS v.5.1.145 operating system
So as you say at this point I can’t do anything about it…

Yes, I knew that, but you can’t block the background or, more importantly, the poster…

Of course you can.

Poster, background, music theme…

Can you explain how? Maybe showing a screenshot.

In those cases I would recommend using local extras for that. If the online source gets a DMCA takedown request or is changed, your local version changes too. Using local extras is the only way to guarantee that.

@Yaracuy you cant lock that field using the web UI.

I don’t understand what you’re saying… can you be more explanatory and simple, I’m not an expert on plex. Are you talking about an external source… a program on the PC? Or what?

As @dbirch said, use local extras.
Go to themoviedatabase or thetvdb, download the poster and background you like and place it in the same folder as your movie and name then:
poster.jpg
background.jpg

But…if you have previously chosen these graphics in the Web UI you will need to unlock them first
