On Windows. And I have a server on my shield downstairs (though no issues with that it seems so far.)
So, my issue started out of the blue this morning when I tried adding some new movies to my PC’s plex media server, but when they were scanned no metadata was scraped from my agents for the newly added films. I didn’t rename them in filebot or anything (though all my other files are the original file name they came with from yify or rarbg) but I’ve never had to before for my other 1800 films so I didn’t think it was an issue. So, after a couple scanning retries and refreshing metadata I decided to manually ‘match’ my movies, however when auto searching (or just doing plex movie and MDB) it just keeps loading and loading as if it can’t reach the Plex Movie database. So I figured it had to be issue on their end, but on my shield downstairs scraping for metadata and fixing matches works fine, only taking a few seconds to get a match.
So, any tips on how I could alleviate this problem owuld be appreciated.
In Summary; I think my PC’s server is unable to connect to Plex Movie and the Movie DB, is there anything I can do?
Link to my logs after I tried removing the items with issues and re-scanning them;
Thanks for the response, I wasn’t even really concerned with that file though, I noticed Life worked fine but I find it strange that it shows Before I wake was properly scraped as nothing seems to show up for it. And this doesn’t really address my main concern as any movie I try to match or fix match to won’t even show any titles to choose from, just stays with that rotating buffer sign indefinitely as seen in image #3. Would my logs show any issues my server has connecting to the movie DB or Plex Movie?
oh, I’ll edit that file and try everything again as you said btw. I don’t see how that would be the issue though as I’ve had that file in my system for the better part of a year, long before I even started using plex
EDIT; I also have that file in my shield’s file system and that’s working fine so I don’t think it’s that
In case anyone’s curious, the movies i reomved and re-added were; Before I wake (2016), World War Z (2013), Under the skin (2013), and Underworld (2003)…
Optimizing my database and restarting my server a couple times seems to have done the trick, I’m able to manually match and fix matches for movies now, I’ll get some more movie files later and see if they scrape data normally, thanks to @anon18523487 for the suggestion, I’ll make a (hopefully) final post tonight saying whether the issue is completely resolved
