I use Plex heavily for streaming music to my iPhone. Unfortunately I’ve been plagued by a very annoying bug. Whenever I open the text app on my phone either to send or reply to a text message there is about a 50% chance that the music will abruptly stop playing. I then have to go to either the Plex app or the lock screen and pause then unpause and playback resumes. Sometimes instead of stopping there is just a brief glitch. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a solution? I have a couple of other audio apps that don’t do this but I prefer to listen to my own library. Aside from this issue Plex has been rock solid, it just works.
Just tested this 5-6 times but cannot reproduce. Are you using Apple’s native Messages app? I can only imagine there’s maybe some audio files being shared somewhere in that message queue and iOS claiming the audio output for those (though they’re apparently not actually playing).
Yep, native messaging app, totally stock phone, nothing fancy at all. One detail I forgot to mention is I’ve been using bluetooth headphones, I don’t remember if it happens with regular wired headphones or not. I’ll play around with it some more tomorrow and see if I can get a few more details.
