Plex Mutliple ATV's

I am currently using one ATV3 and one Roku but the Roku interface is really ugly (I use the iOS plex app on my phone and iPad so I don't have to look at it) so I'm looking to get another ATV3. Is it possible to run two ATV3's on the same network to access plex?

Yep! I bought another ATV for PlexConnect too and it's officialy supported and works like a charm.

Just don't forget installing the profile for Http ;)

Since I've already installed it on one ATV do I have to remove it off the first device and then install the same certs on both?

I use the same cert on all my mac's and atv's

I don't have the old cert folder so I would imagine I'd just to have to start the process again? Wouldn't take long either way.

Check your program you originally used to install the cert. Maybe its there?

No no, just install same cert .. If it's deleted create a new one and install on the new ATV

OK so the old ATV will still work and the trailers.pem file will be the same on the new ATV with the new certs created?

Ye, don't touch old ATV, just install cert to the new one and enjoy ..

Excellent, thanks!!

...with new Cert on new aTV as well as in PlexConnect, your old aTV wouldn't accept the https stuff provided to it, right?

My guess: A new Cert in PlexConnect will force you to update the Cert on your old aTV as well. I might be wrong here... but that is how I understand it.

Ignore

Plexify? This is not about the OS X app, is it?

akeezer "lost" his original Cert. I just wanted to point out, that the given advice is not completely correct... assuming he wants to still use his original aTV with Plex/PlexConnect as well.

Mixed up threads, my bad

AppleTV is listed under Devices but when I click install it doesn't change to remove. Any ideas?

The cert is installed and if I try to remove it to create a new one it won't let me.

Just as an update to this as my original cert didnt work.

SOLUTION:

Delete the cert directory (C:/Cert) and contents of c:/PlexConnect/assets/certificates except for certificate.txt)

Downoaded txt.gif  cert.create.txt   364bytes

Copy to C:/Cert

Renamed to cert.create.bat

Right click and run as admin

Copy the three files created to c:/PlexConnect/assets/certificates

Create a copy of trailers.der and rename to trailers.cer

Run plexconnect.py

On the Apple TV choose Setings-> General -> Network and change DNS to the DNS of your PC/Plex Server

Then General -> Send Data To Apple and click the Play button and Add Profile

Enter http://IP of your Plex server/trailers.cer" - IP of your plex server is your DNS

This will install your cert in your c:/PlexConnect/assets/certificates and you can do this on multiple devices.
