I just starting using Plex a few months ago, I have a external hardrive connected to my NVIDIA shield tv(2019). I was adding tons of movies and tv shows that I had stored on my external harddrive to plex just fine until 2 days ago. I added another tv show then realized that Plex did not auto update all of the names of the episodes of the show. Not thinking straight I deleted that tv show from my TV shows folder on plex, removed the external hardrive from my NVIDIA shield, connected the external harddrive to my laptop to check and make sure my naming was correct for the episodes that did auto populate when it was connected to Plex. Then I later reconnected my external hardrive back to my Nvidia shield, logged into my plex server again from my laptop and tried to add that tv show back into my TV show’s folder on Plex and now plex will not load that show at all or any other shows or movies I have on my external HD connected to the Shield. When I go under the settings in my plex server and select libraries and select edit libraries I see the tv show and I can select to add it, but the show will not auto populate back on to my TV shows list. I also tried to add other movies and TV shows now and plex won’t add any of those either. I’ve tried to scan the folder, etc and now I can not longer add any new content. My movies and tv shows that I were already added in plex in the past all show up and play find, but I can’t add anything new now for some reason. Not sure if there is a setting I need to change in the plex server settings or on the in the Nvidia shield tv plex settings or the shield itself. Any help would be appreciated, this is driving me nuts now.

I’m having pretty much the same problem now - can’t scan / find ANY new content - and now my plex media server stops randomly and can’t find the content until i restart the shield. Have you found a fix for this?
