I just updated plex after a month or so of not updating, and now my alerts page doesn’t show when users play an episode or a film. Someone told me that the mobile app has a setting for specifically enabling user play notifications, but when I enable that nothing appears still in my Alerts page. The alerts page continues to show things like the server opening and closing, and library analysis, but no user playing.
Look at the Dashboard page. There is greatly expanded play history information there, including currently playing items.
I see that now, did not notice the View Full History section in the dashboard. That’s very useful. However, I also liked the playback notifications in the alerts page too. Is there any way to bring it back?
I don’t know for sure, but I doubt it.
Sadly the Play History page only shows whatever Plex considers to be full views not partials. Without plays showing in Alerts there’s no longer a way to view partial plays. Definitely annoying.
