Plex not authorized (Synology NAS)

Version#: 1.29.2.6364-7000
I got a Synology NAS.
When I launch Plex, I get this error message “Plex not authorized”
I believe I have followed the permission guidelines properly.
Uninstalled - reinstalled Plex. Still got the same issue.

I’m not sure how to fix this


This is two different concepts:

  1. Your server’s access to the media files (Synology file/directory permissions)
  2. Your Plex account’s permission to access that server (access authorization)

Did you by chance have a previous installation of Plex on that NAS using a different Plex account?

I’ve only ever used my only one account when installing Plex.
Also I’ve unistalled it by choosing the most aggressive uninstall option

To add to Tom,

Install using the “Plex Claim Token” option.

This method will ensure Plex.tv knows you’re authorized.

After the server is up and running, Look at authorized devices, you’ll likely find a duplicate somewhere.
