I moved from my Condo to an apartment and brought my computer/server with me. All my plex files were fully available remotely when I was at the Condo, but now that I am at my apartment they are only available locally. I have tried everything I can think of. I know that the issue is the the internet is showing as not connected to my public ip address but I am not tech savy enough to know that what that means or how to fix it.
I should also note that my internet is working and speed tests show that everything is just fine. I have my desktop connected to my router via a cat6 and the router is connected to the only ethernet port in the apartment with a cat6 as well. This is the exact same format I was following at my Condo.
Is the apartment complex supplying the Internet connection? Maybe your not explaining it correctly. If the apartment is supplying it then they are probably blocking the ports required by Plex. Most of the time Plex will setup the connection through the router automatically but depends on the router you have. If Plex can’t you will need to forward a port manually in your router like port 32400. It needs to be forwarded to your computer running plex.
