Plex not detecting any new Seasons 2 and 7 and episodes 2 and 7

I’m having a strange problem I hope someone can help me with, as I’d rather not recreate the whole server if I don’t have to.

For any new shows added to any TV SHOW style library, Plex won’t detect anything labelled S02, S07, or E02, E07, or any variations of that naming (S002, Season 2, ect.). I can rename the exact same files as S99, or E99 and Plex picks them up, but they disappear again after I rename them back to the correct episode. Older, previously added shows are not affected and still have all seasons and episodes.

For example - I recently uploaded ShowName.S01E01.mkv and Showname.S01E02.mkv. Only ShowName.S01E01 is detected. Same with the entire Showname.S02.E**.mkv season.

Based on the limited naming info you provided it does not appear you are exactly following the PLEX naming standards for TV shows:

  • /TV Shows/ShowName/Season 02/ShowName – s02e17 – Optional_Info.ext

Take a look at the support page for naming to assure you got them right:
