Plex not finding new media after updating to DSM 7 (Synology NAS Sever)

Server Version#: 1.25.2.5319
Player Version#:

Hi, not sure what you need me to provide of information, so I’ll try to be as complete as possible.

Since the new update for my Synology DS920+ NAS to DSM 7, I am having issues with Plex. Since there were (and still are a couple) of issues, I set up everything from scratch again. This means that I deleted Plex completely (deleting every map as I read on the community and deleting it hard without saving any information) and disconnected my Plex account with my NAS. Then I did a fresh install with the package from Plex itself (manual install) which should be thé one for DSM 7. At this point, everything seems to be working, except finding new media. I am following the rules according to naming the files and keeping movies and series separated. I am even adding the imdb titles if possible. Since that did not work after the fresh install, I just did it again. Then, it did found my new media items that I wanted Plex to find before! However, if I add new media, it can not find them anymore. I am not sure what to do anymore. Please let me know if you need additional information to help me out! Thanks in advance!

On DSM 7, Plex changed to using the name PlexMediaServer (DSM-forced change).

You need to grant permissions to (System Internal User) PlexMediaServer .

Local User Plex isn’t used anymore and you can safely delete it.

Hi ChuckPa, Thanks for reacting so fast, appreciated! I read this thread indeed as well. I also gave

PlexMediaServer``` all the rights but that did not solve this issue...

Please verify DEBUG logging is enabled, VERBOSE disabled

Scan files again on that section / or add new files for it to scan (your choice).

I need to see how it’s failing.

Hi, I did that. How can I share the debug log with you? Let me know! Thanks!
