Plex not getting any metadata from TheTVDB

Server Version#: Version 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: N/A

I’ve been unable to get metadata for new TV shows for a few weeks now. This problem seems specific to TV shows or TheTVDB as I’m able to get metadata for new movies without any issues. Looking through my logs, I see a lot of copies of this:

2019-03-06 22:54:50,693 (d98) : DEBUG (networking:166) - Requesting ‘https://tvdb2.plex.tv/login
2019-03-06 22:54:50,766 (d98) : INFO (logkit:16) - JWT Error: (<urlopen error [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed (_ssl.c:590)>) -

Is this a known problem? I haven’t got metadata for new TV shows in a few weeks and I can’t find any recent threads about this error. I tried clearing my Plug-in Support\Caches folder as well, which didn’t help.

Thanks.

You could try disabling IPV6. It has been known to work in the past.
Settings -> Network -> Enable server support for IPv6.

No issues here - Windows 10 server - latest PMS - IPV4

I was able to fix this by updating to 1.15.1.710. I had to manually update because PMS was telling me I was up to date. For future reference, I’m not using IPv6 and I’m running Windows Server 2019. I’d hope the root certificates are pretty fresh on this version. I can go to https://tvdb2.plex.tv/login in IE and see that the certificate is trusted by Windows in general too.
