Plex metadata 404 error

Hello,

I have been having no luck trying to get Plex to download metadata for my movies and tv shows :frowning:
I have just uninstalled plex server and deleted my entire database and am doing the plex dance for everything atm so scanning will take some time. For now i have added a log file of trying to populate 1 tv show. In the logs im seeing…

2017-12-05 18:30:38,934 (1e54) : DEBUG (networking:166) - Requesting ‘https://tvdb2.plex.tv/series/326287?lang=en
2017-12-05 18:30:39,309 (1e54) : ERROR (networking:219) - Error opening URL ‘https://tvdb2.plex.tv/series/326287?lang=en
2017-12-05 18:30:39,309 (1e54) : INFO (logkit:16) - HTTPError 404:
2017-12-05 18:30:39,309 (1e54) : INFO (logkit:16) - Bad series data, no update for TVDB id: 326287 (lang: en)

Is this pointing to me not being authorized when requesting the data from TVDB?

Current file structure is…

/Movies
/Die Hard (1988)
/Die Hard (1988).mkv

/TV Shows
/Castlevania
/Season 01
Castlevania - S01E01 - Witchbottle
Castlevania - S01E02 - Necropolis
Castlevania - S01E03 - Labyrinth
Castlevania - S01E04 - Monument

And my Agent settings are…

----->Fanart.tv
----->CineMaterial
-The Movie Database
----->Plex Movie
----->The Movie Database
----->Fanart.tv

Shows

Logs uploaded

Settings - Server - Network - ‘Enable server support for IPv6’ <-- DISABLE

Edit your tv show library,
go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab
and change the path from F:\TV Shows\Castlevania
to F:\TV Shows

Quit Plex Server
reboot the Windows box
(you should better update to a ‘release’ build of Windows)

IPv6 disabled
my TV path has been F:\TV Shows
i quit plex server
not sure what you mean by release build of windows?
my windows is activated, genuine and update, and im using plex server version 1.9.7.4460

Still showing same messages as in my previous logs after plex dance of that tv show

OK, then I have seen that wrong in the logs, sorry!

Still showing same messages as in my previous logs after plex dance of that tv show

Is it possible that something is interfering with network commincation?
Which anti virus/firewall do you use?

Is there perhaps some other software installed which interferes with network communication?
see https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/206910047-Windows-Repeated-crashing-of-Plex-Media-Server

not that im aware, im on a recently installed windows
i have plex allowed private and public through my firewall and i have disabled avast and tried with same results

my movies using IMDB are able to get their metadata

Could you open the Internet Explorer and surf to the website https://tvdb2.plex.tv/
then to https://www.thetvdb.com/
and https://www.themoviedb.org/
then clear the agent caches: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/202967376-Clearing-Plugin-Channel-Agent-HTTP-Caches
wait 1 minute, then reboot Windows.

Perform the Plex Dance with this series.

i can load thetvdb, themoviedb but tvdb2.plex gives me “Error”: “Not authorized”

already restarted my router and checked IP6 wasnt enabled in settings

nice!

Looks like its grabbing the metadata now :smiley:

ill check back in the morning after plex sweeps through my library…

I would like to know if the “Castlevania” issue has been solved. I have had to remove Castlevania from my library because the scanner chokes on it.
