Server Version#: 1.18.5.2309
Player Version#: 4.221
As the title states. This occurred after about 1 year of working fine. Radarr continues to work fine. Once I reboot the server, all files are imported without issue. I’ve done all the simple things, like Scan Library, Optimize Database, and of course make sure sonarr is set correctly. Logs attached. Any help would be appreciated Plex Media Server Logs_2020-02-09_05-34-21.zip (5.3 MB)
i just realized i had a rogue test plex server that was in my network – not sure if that confused the logs, so i repeated the procedure and am attaching the new logs. still the same?

In your network configuration, You have a DNS server IP address. Either that address is invalid, or the server it is pointing to upstream, is failing
My first guess is they have no outside internet connectivity.
i might need you to dumb this down a little more for me, but i do have DNS verification on with my reverse proxy for other purposes on my network… that said, i implemented this well after i was having issues with the TV shows not synching. secondly, why are these issues only present with sonarr, where radarr and lidarr work fine?
all that said, how would you direct me to pinpoint, in the most noob 101 terms possible, where to start looking to fix this?
If you have an issue solely with TV data from Sonarr, please think about it?
What is it about the file permissions or naming which Sonarr applies which prevent Plex from seeing them where the files the other apps use work just fine?
I have Sonarr and Lidarr. Both work flawlessly. Respectfully, I think you have a Sonarr configuration issue to work out.
i totally get what you’re saying, but the issue i’m trying to resolve is that fact that sonarr transfers everything totally fine with a reboot of Plex. the issue is after plex boots that it will not import new downloads. so i have to reboot for it to pull in the new downloads…
the permissions, port allocations, mappings and everything haven’t changed for the past year and i can’t recall anything changing. also, i just compared every setting of sonarr with radarr and lidarr and they’re identical.
i really appreciate your help, but i’m just wanting to ensure i’m clearly communicating.
First, There is no automatic detection over the LAN. The networking protocols were created before inotify was. Those protocols were never updated to include it. Windows emulates it by polling (reading) periodically.
Second, I cannot get over all the DNS lookup errors in your logs.
All the file matching is dependent on being able to lookup hosts in the plex.tv domain.
The sequence is plex.tv itself (which is both host and domain) then the different metadata hosts within the domain.
How are you expecting the TV series content to be added? Automatically or by polling?
the way it has been running is that plex scans for changes every 15 minutes (so i assume it’s polling) but i also have it automatically pushing from sonarr by “connecting” it via the sonarr Settings>Connect feature
do you think removing the TV library and relinking it would do anything useful? i’m hesitant to do so as a test because i have nearly 200 full tv shows and ~15000 episodes. thoughts?
Have you checked the logs in Sonarr to see if there is an issue triggering the scan? If you have the connection in Sonarr setup and it’s not triggering a scan in Plex, that sounds like an issue to try in the Sonarr forums since their application is the one trying to trigger the scan.
