Plex not playing anything

Server Version#: Windows 1.13.9.5456
Player Version#: Web 3.69.1, Current AppleTV & iPhone

Everything I attempt to play says “Conversion failed. The transcoder failed to start up.” I have used PMS for at least a year with no issues. This started 3-4 days ago. Nothing major has occurred with the PC that runs PMS.

I have stopped PMS, deleted codecs with no resolution. This was the only thing I saw browsing around that seemed logical to do.

I have enabled debug logging, recreated the problem twice, waiting 1 minute and downloaded the logs. Just not sure where to attach them to this or which log to copy/paste.

Suggestions?

I had this problem after I installed the new update. I went into task manager and saw 6 versions of transcoder.exe running. I stopped all Plex exe files and rebooted the computer. After this I haven’t had the problem again. (Yet?)

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked and no transcoder.exe running.

An Update:

I have discovered that playing on my laptop (Win10) works if I use the Plex Player. Using any browser does not work. I also cannot play on any TV or AppleTV.

Same Issue, I seen the same 6 or so running i closed then and rebooted and still transcoder will not kick start this just started today. i even reinstalled Plex as repair option. if i find something that works i’ll share

I am amazed there hasn’t been a reply with an answer to troubleshoot. I completely cannot use my Plex on anything.

Nothing?

How to I get the devs’ attention?
