Plex not playing nice - Highlander 1992 TV show

I have Highlander 1992 TV show all seasons etc. I have been trying to add it to plex and while plex has updated and added other TV shows with no issue and despite being added to the same TV folder specified for TV library, plex refuses to deal with the Highlander show and sub season folders.

What can I do besides shout and swear at the thing?

Is it me? Have I done something wrong? Have I not done something?

Maybe I should just rebuild server and HDDs and start again with a clean blank slate!

The most common issue is bad file names or organization or permission issues

How are those episodes named and organized inside the library folder linked to your tv show library?

This is how it is in the library folder:

Highlander The TV series (1992)
(Subfolder) Highlander (1992) Season 01 (files) Highlander The Series - 1x01 - The Gathering.mkv

Same for seasons 2-6. All done through filebot.

I have been through all 425 TV shows I have on plex and nothing looks off. Everything else in that library folder has been done the same and plex has not batted an eyelid at all or complained.

Any thoughts please?

Try this instead:

TV Shows  <- the folder linked to your library
  Highlander (1992)
    Season 01
      Highlander (1992) - s01e01 - The Gathering.mkv

You can deviate from the naming schema and get lucky
 until you don’t :wink:

Still nothing!

Even tried adding it as a separate folder. Maybe Plex doesn’t recognise this as a TV show for some reason

Make sure you do the Plex dance ← click

If you already did that or get nothing when you try, filter your TV library by episodes, then look for duplicates

Anything you see, click the three dots on one of the posters and see what show it’s being combined with

If you see nothing, post your logs

After seeing activity on this thread for several days I checked my collection to see how I have the series named in my folders/file names.

Mine is like this (and it was ALL added properly in PMS)

\Highlander The Series (1992)\
\Highlander The Series (1992)\ Season 1\Highlander The Series s01e01 - The Gathering.mp4
etc.

just the way it’s listed on theTVDB

Ok Chaps,

The issue has been fixed. The problem was that the show had somehow got copied onto more than one other show and many duplicates and crossovers had confused the system.

I ended up moving and resorting, deleting etc most of the TV shows on that particular hard drive and rebuilding the main library folder on that hard drive one show at a time. THose that had not been corrupted were fine and stayed.

However, it also showed up a number of shows that had issues with files and duplicates. Those have been removed so I can sort them out at my own pace.

My deepest thanks to Jays Plex7 for suggesting I look for duplicates and do the plex dance which I already had done to no avail. Also thanks to those whose help and advice led to a fixing of my issue.

Normal service has been resumed here with the plex server. LOL.

No duplicates to be found anywhere!

Thanks guys for all your help and advice. I have now pinned a note above the server that tells me not to do plex stuff when I am tired and it is late at night!
