Plex not recognizing random tracks

Hi, I’ve tried searching for a solution, but I can’t see one, so I’m hoping someone can help me here!
I’ve recently purchased a limited edition 2 cd of Tomorrow Never Dies soundtrack by David Arnold.
I’ve scanned both discs, and put it into my music folder in Plex.
What is happening is that some tracks aren’t being recognized!
The whole of disc 2 is there, but for disc 1 it’s only recognizing tracks 3, 11-24. All the tracks are named the same, so the fact that most of the tracks are recognized shows that I must be doing something right, but for the life of me I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong.
I’ve named the files as follows:
David Arnold/Tomorrow Never Dies/101 - song title.mp3
And for disc 2:
David Arnold/Tomorrow Never Dies/201 - sing title.mp3
Everything is great, except the missing tracks.
Thanks in advance!

Did you embed metadata into your files?
Do you rip your files directly into the folder which have been added to plex?
Is the checkbox “prefer local metatags” ticked or empty?

Is embedding metadata directly where you open up properties for the track and put in the details? I think I did, but I’d need to check, if I didn’t, would it be that Plex would recognize SOME tracks but not others?
No, I ripped them into a seperate file, then converted them into MP3s, then put them into the Plex folder.
The prefer local metatags is unchecked.
Thanks for your swift reply.

That would mean Plex has to take the data from Musicbrainz.
That would be this album: https://musicbrainz.org/release/f6f42bee-207d-472d-b082-73b73d363f8c

Which operating system are you using for your media curation? If it’s Windows, I recommend using mp3tag. The Windows file properties dialog is inadequate, because it doesn’t show a lot of fields which are important in Plex.

Another software would be Musicbrainz Picard. It uses the same music database as Plex, so it fits almost perfectly. Though you might want to put some settings into it to avoid it making too much drastic changes: [HowTo] Music Organizing with MusicBrainz Picard
Using Picard has the advantage that it inserts the Musicbrainz ID as a meta tag, which tells Plex exactly which version of the album it shall use. The one in question has apparently one-disc and two-disc versions.

That is perfectly fine, as long as you did not add the folder David Arnold to the Plex library, but rather its parent folder. e.g.
/Music/David Arnold/Tomorrow Never Dies/101 - song title.mp3
with Music being the folder which has been added to the Plex library.

For better matching you might want to include the release year into the folder name, though:
/Music/David Arnold/Tomorrow Never Dies (2022)/101 - song title.mp3

Ah, that makes sense, thank you.
I’ll look into MusicBrainz, as that sounds like a perfect solution.
I’ve gone in and had a look, and I have done the metadata in Windows, so what you are saying about Windows being inadequate might be the issue, as I’ve found the other tracks, they are listed as an Unknown Album with Unknown Artist, despite it being in the Windows properties. As you say, it looks like Plex and Windows are syncing correctly, so I’ll try MusicBrainz.
And yes, the tracks are in the music folder, as you say, so that’s correct.
Thank you so much, very much appreciated.

Thank you for your help. It was Plex confusing things with Windows, the MusicBrainz worked.
Again, thank you.
