This is probably easy to fix, but I can’t find the way to solve it and it’s happened twice now. I got an album in FLAC and I let Plex identify the tracks. However, track 2 from disc 5 is wrongly identified as track 2 from disc 9 and viceversa. When I try to place track 2 disc 5, it plays track 2 disc 9. How can I correct the filepath manually so that these tracks are identified correctly?
What is the status of the checkbox “Prefer local metatags” in the properties of your music library?
If it’s off, start by looking up the album on Musicbrainz.org
Does the specific version of that album you have even exist on there?
(compare the track listing with your version!)
If it’s on, verify that your files are correctly tagged and named as in
Here’s the thing. Classical music is a weird creature and metadata there is crazy. I end up editing all metadata bit by bit, field by field. I made sure track no and disc no are set correctly. I just used Picard to try to solve this, but it definitely feels more of a temporary solution than anything. The best solution (that would have worked for me without altering metadata) would have been changing the titles on Plex and then changing the disc no also on Plex, since it’s Plex that’s miscategorizing the tracks.
