I decided to go through my library and remove audio from movies that aren’t my native language and simplify the naming. I have Norwegian and Norwegian Bokmal, so decided to change Norwegian Bokmal to just Norwegian since Bokmal is technically just a written form of the language. But it didn’t change for the movie. So I did the full Plex dance and it still came back as Norwegian Bokmal. Then changed the language to be English and did the Plex dance and it still comes back as Norwegian Bokmal. What am I missing here? The movie is Troll Hunter (2010) for reference.
Does the filename end with MP4 or AVI ?
If so, check the internal metadata.
MP4 and AVI files carry additional info which PMS reads.
If the info is stored in the file, PMS will use it.
MKV set to Norwegian (no), not (nb). But just found that it had the obsolete version of language also set. Probably since I ripped it so long ago. MKVToolNix doesn’t display that unless you go to Header Editor. That’s why I was confused. Removing the obsolete language version fixed it.
