Hoping for some help. Here is the scenario.
Nvidia Shield running PMS. I have my NAS mounted in the shield and it sees it with no trouble.
NAS is connected to my ASUS AC-RT1900P Router.
Using Chrome on Windows to access my account to do the creation of media.
Windows sees my NAS. Shield sees my NAS. I have SMB1 enabled along with NetBios.
I have added movies and music and other videos with no problem. I decided I wanted to add TV shows. I created a new folder on the NAS called TV shows. However when I go to link it in Plex, it does not show up, but Plex sees my other folders. I checked permissions on the router and the admin account has R/W for all folders. I am wits end trying to figure out what’s going on. Any ideas?

Why are you checking permissions for the NAS share via your router?
The external HD is connected to the router. The router in the settings sees the HD and the permissions are set for R/W. When I try to check the settings on Windows 10, the permissions for Everyone don’t stick. I have tried hooking the HD to my PC and changing permissions but it doesn’t stick.
@AssClown Let’s clarify here. That is not a Network Attached Storage connected to the router. That is an external hard drive connected to the router–making your router a makeshift NAS. Please be clear next time.
What filesystem is the drive formatted as? I am assuming you are using AiDisk to provide SMB file sharing services?
The hard drive was formatted with NTFS. I am not using AiDisk. I am not wanting to use Asus’s cloud stuff. I am using the servers center tab. Media Server is turned on. Samba share is turned on and the admin account has full R/W to it.
What do you mean by this? AiDisk is the built in file server. AiCloud is their Cloud service.
There are filesystem permissions and then there are file sharing permissions. You will need to set both.
That’s what I am having trouble with. I can’t set the file permissions under the security tab. I have EVERYONE there and I enable full rights, but then it just keeps resetting. The file sharing I have an account made and enabled full rights to that and that’s ok. I ended up resetting everything and doing it all over, but I keep having these issues with both the file and file sharing permissions.
