Plex not showing all my movies

Hello all,

I have currently migrated my plex server to from my all debian linux server to my new one. So I copied all content from plexmediaserver folder and moved on to the new server.
After making the migration, I rescanned all my library and it seems that some movies have dissapeared, checking in the logs I see the following:

Any idea?
For the movies that are not showing on my Plex library, it is strange as I am able to access them by searching them in the search box.

  1. PLEASE turn DEBUG logging back on. I cannot help when it’s turned off. (I cannot see what’s happening. DEBUG ON, VERBOSE OFF, SAVE.

  2. Restart Plex

  3. Wait 60 seconds

  4. Now recreate what you see.

  5. Download the logs ZIP file (settings - server - troubleshooting - download logs)

  6. Attach the ZIP file ( I cannot diagnose this problem from an excerpt )

I have attached here the logs, to see if you find any problem. However after this restart it seems Plex has detected all movies again, and it is now rescaning and download info about them. Don’t know why it was failing before

On the other hand, is there any option that I can activate, so that, in case this happens again, and more than 10 movies are deleted at once, they just appear as not available, or maintain the information of them on the plex DDBB?
Now I am going to lose some time on checking if all movies are identified correctly, and if not correct them myself through plex, as I alreadyd did once they were added

You can set the library to not Empty Trash.

That will keep the metadata and history but they will drop from the list if, because of how you have your media structured, individual files don’t have permission.

The structure which marks as Unavailable most readily is:

/storage/movies/Movie (Year)/Movie (Year).ext

This way, If movies is not readable, everything is unavailabe.
Also, If “Movies (Year)/” is not readable, it’s marked unavaiable.

However, if you put individual movie files in a single directory, there is no way to know what’s happening except by monitoring or the trash can (which you will have to maintain diligence with yourself.

no… but it also looks like you purged old logs?

(PMS keeps 5 rollover files – total of 6 but you have only 2 total)

I deleted old logs, for you to find it easier.
What do you mean about 5 rollover files, but that I have 6, but only 2? Totally losted in here

In the ZIP file you downloaded, the file contained:

Plex Media Server.log (the current file)
Plex Media Server.1.log (the previous)

PMS will, by default, maintain 1,2,3,4,5 before they start rolling off the end.

I was looking to see that previous history because it’s very common for activity to cross multiple files.
