Plex has stopped showing all my movies library

Server Version#: 1.13.8.5395
Player Version#: where do I find this?

Plex Media Server Logs_2018-10-17_05-59-03.zip (3.6 MB)

So I recently did a clean up on my pc and may have deleted files from my Plex folders that I thought would no longer be required. Big mistake it appears lol.

However, now my Movies library is only showing 54 movies instead of 1500+. I can’t get Plex to see the rest of my Movies Library. How can I fix this please?

Thanks
Joseph

Indeed.

Apparently you did delete some of Plex’s files.
Start with ‘Scan library files’
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200392106-library-actions/
and let it run.
(this may take several hours, depending on the number of your media files)

Once this is finished, you may also need to perform ‘Refresh Metadata’, which also may need several hours to complete.

Be prepared to re-adjust some poster or cover art selections.

Hey Otto,

Now when I scan the library and refresh the metadata it’s inly seeing 54 movies.

I tried installing PMS over the current install to see if that would replace any missing files but no luck there.

Did you take a look at my log files? I don’t know what I’m looking at when I view them lol.

Thanks.

You might have to destroy the library and recreate it then, I’m afraid.

Hey Otto,

I found my problem, my computer got infected with a Ransom virus so all my movies have been changed and encrypted. Luckily I have backups to reinstate everything after I give my pc a good clean.

Cheers

Ouch! My condolences.
