Plex not showing media but service is running

Server Version#: 1.32.6.7468
Player Version#:

This usually happens at least once a day, sometimes multiple times a day. Plex, on all devices (AppleTV, Chrome, Safari, iOS, will not show any of my media. all that I see is the Plex provided movies and shows.

if I go to the server (Debian 10 VM on Proxmox) and run systemctl status plexmediaserver.service it shows the service running with no errors. The only fix is to run ‘systemctl restart plexmediaserver.service’

I see no authenticated activity (I would see this if your username accessed the server)

When are these logs from?

Is it possible to get logs from when it was not responding? (Manual tar.gz of the Logs directory)

These are from today, I got them from Plex Web>Settings>Troubleshooting> Download Logs. They are only the most recent. Here is the whole folder it downloaded

Plex Logs.zip (4.3 MB)

  1. Please turn off VERBOSE logging. There is noting gained. It’s making it more difficult to read.

  2. Also, Please go into Setting - Server - Network
    – TURN OFF “IPv6”. Your LAN is IPv4.

  3. I see where another user “DJ…” is authenticating right up until you shutdown the system.

Networking problem?

I noticed the Verbose logging too, I checked my settings and it is disabled unless it is somewhere else also.

I’ll try number two, but the VM has internet and network connection when this happens.

edit: Went to turn it off and it is already unchecked.
