Plex server not detected even though running

I do not know what is wrong and have been trying to figure it out for a few days now. I am stumped. I updated to the current version of plex for ubuntu and now I cannot see my server even though it is running. I have purged and reinstalled the software and still no luck. below is the status of my system and it shows plex running. But when I log into the web interface. I see everything but my libraries of movies and it does not display my server at all.

  1. Upper right corner of the Plex/web browser – SIGN OUT
  2. Close the browser
  3. Open the browser fresh
  4. Open an incognito window
  5. In that incognito window - http://127.0.0.1:32400/web (assuming you’re running from the same Ubuntu computer where the server is running)
  6. It will load the Plex/web app and want you to sign in.
  7. Sign in and click the “Got It”.
  8. The setup wizard will start.

OK tried all that. It is still not recognizing my server. Which is the computer I am working on. A message pops up and says something went wrong on their end. Then it just sits there with the little cursor spinning.
