I’ve been running two Plex servers for many, many years, HP Micro Server N54L and N40L. Yes they are quite old but I don’t transcode just direct play on my Gig LAN.
They are running OMV4 (up to date) with the Debian Plex Server plugin (up to date). All working flawlessly for years.
Front end client is an AppleTV4k running Plex / InFuse.
Just recently large movie files started buffering. This also happens when streaming via wifi to Plex client on iPhone 13 Pro so I don’t believe the issue is either the Gig LAN, ATV, FrontEnd Clients.
Seems to be a throughput issue on the LAN from the media servers as smaller files play ok. The only thing that changed on these servers is updating the Plex server to latest version so can’'t be a hardware issue, both servers affected by this at same time too.
I’m a bit stumped as what to try next, everything is up to date, there should be no issue direct playing these files on a Gig LAN.
Any ideas?
