Plex on a refrigerator display?

I’m just wondering if someone has hacked any of the smart refrigerators with LED screens to display Plex stuff. Just think: Movies and snacks all in the same room! I was thinking of the idea in relation to some of the new smart refrigerators like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2K_C-GoWcI
I don’t know if they have HDMI inputs on such models.

Meanwhile, the 6-soda-can sized mini-fridge my wife got for my PC room serves me well enough sitting on the desk nearby.

Now you’ve done it.
Plex HQ is gonna drop everything to work on it…

Imagine an Orange Juice ad playing while you’re looking in the fridge - and see no Orange Juice…

Or Mr Mercedes and your looking for a hamburger patty or with a movie “The Voices” with Ryan Reynolds refrigerator stash. Now that a scene to be seen…

Are there any electronics in the bathroom?
(I live in the country - I may be behind the curve)

If we ever can actually buy any ‘Bathroom Tissue’, a reminder about what brand to buy might come in handy - and in the meantime that Bounty Ad may trigger an experiment wherein you will discover it is, in fact, the quicker picker upper.

I like the ‘Select-a-sheet’.
We gotta do something about ‘Brawny’ and ‘Bounty’ tho - having those things in that area - may give one ‘pause’ when you’re making your selection (note to ad moguls)…

Do I have right cream for that, may come to mind

That video says it runs Android so I guess it could be possible.

Really, now all we need is sync. So when you go for refreshments you don’t miss much if not using Pause.

More Development Needed…

I need to Watch Together with my Chillmaster 9000 - but I can’t get it to respond to the request.

@anon18523487 :
“What Version are you running?”
“I need some logs”
“and a pudding cup”…

Chocolate please. :grinning:

Also don’t forget to check if the WiFi is getting interference when the compressor for the ice maker kicks in.

I cannot speak for other manufacturers but the Samsung fridges use a very scaled down version of their Tizen OS, which itself is their own fork of Linux. I doubt the version of Tizen OS used in their fridges has the necessary dependencies to even run something like Plex player.

Samsung TVs also use Tizen. However, I doubt that the chippery in those fridges is powerful enough and/or has the necessary codec support to run the Plex client for Samsung TVs.

Indeed, the version of Tizen OS in their fridges are more stripped down than the Tizen OS used in the Samsung Watch. No doubt the processor and memory played at least some part of that.

EDIT: Lovely looking fridges though lol

you load plex via the web browser then everything plays fine no problems so far

I love this idea! The fridge can give you snack suggestions based upon the current playing movie? If its a fave, then you get ice cream and sweets. If not, you get a veggie platter and ranch dip.
