i recommend you to get the logs from the fire cube directly after playing it and it failing and post it here

this page under network logging.

It doesn’t work on the Fire Stick either, nor many Android phones.

Im going to have to disagree on this part.

They all work fine on my Amazon Fire Stick 4K and Amazon Fire TV (3rd Gen)
I tested it.

Its with the Cube 2nd Gen that nothing works

The issue im having with the Cube is, i have a playlist of Bobs Burgers that run all night and I keep getting the message to reboot the cube and server as the tv show stops playing

My Fire Cube works, just the PLEX play back sucks
 but if I switch to the google chrome and cast to the chrome device, play back is awesome 

I have tried setting the quality on the cube to different settings and pixelation disappears for a minute or two and then it is back to pixelation
 anyone want to buy a fire cube?

I have had issues with the Fire Cube as well. I have multiple Fire TV and 4K tv sticks and they all work fine. Issue is only on the new Cube. If I try to play something I’ll get an error, but after force stopping the app and going back in everything then works. I have to do this multiple times a day and it’s only on the Cube.

I have similar issues with my 2ng gen cube.

After each Plex software update, practically nothing will play, if I switch on subtitles (which I need for many things as my son is deaf) nothing plays at all.

Many tv shows and movies will not resume, and I have to start from the beginning.

My workaround, for the time being, is to go into settings (well done Plex - just randomly move settings to make me search for it) and under advanced, switch off the “use new player” option. Unfortunately with each update, this is switched back on by default, effectively crippling the player on the amazon fire tv cube.

My worry is that the “new player” will become the only player, effectively killing Plex on the cube, unless things are fixed.
