So in the last week… something has changed on Fire Cube Plex. Everything I play… every video I have tried, artifacts like crazy and looks like it is straming at a very low rate. I changed all the settings I could in the Plex app… turned off auto resolution… Put everything to maximum… nothing. I changed it to NOT use the new player and still has issues.
I then went to run plex on my Samsung smart tv, and videos play fine.
It obviously an issue with the app on fire cube… but not sure what I can do. Anyone else having issues? Thoughts on fixing this?
Have you ‘Enabled/Disabled’ the ‘New Player’ to see if one is better than the other?

That was the first thing I checked when my FireTV wouldn’t play any videos - at all - Hint: The Old Player is still working as badly as it ever did, while ‘New and Improved’ rarely lives up to it’s name in the horrifying world of Plex on FireTV.
Yeah. I disabled the “New Player” … its a LITTLE better…but not really. Its REALLY bad. I cannot imagine anyone even tested this…there is NO way this would get past testing… Its a significant difference. Almost unwatchable.
It WAS ok before…not sure what changes were made but it took a SIGNIFICANT step backwards.
Is there no way to submit a technical support ticket? I dont understand how we cannot get a hold of someone to at least let them know?
I am the exact same boat. If I play a video on my fire TV, no issues. If i play it on the newer second gen fire cube, its artifacting like crazy. Any word on this?
