Plex on Chromebook (Duet 5) - External storage not being used, even though it is selected

I recently got a Duet 5 which is running ChromeOS. I want to download Plex videos to an external hard drive. The storage location has been successfully changed to External Storage. However, Plex shows 0KB in use in the app but from the Play Store when I select “manage apps” it shows that it is using 9.3 GB. The “internal storage” shows that the available space has decreased by about 9GB since I began downloading my media but the external storage hasn’t changed at all.

If I change the storage location back to “internal storage” I get a popup letting me know that I’m changing the download location and that it will need to redownload the media. But regardless of what I’ve designated as the storage location, it will still only download to internal storage.

I also use Jellyfin and it downloads media to the external storage without issue, so I don’t believe that the problem is with the files or with the hard drive.

Anyone have any ideas of how I can troubleshoot and figure this out?
