PLEX on ESXI Windows 10

I have been using a stand alone box for years worked great an ild i7-6500 using a 1 tb m.1 for transcoding and 1080 ti for hardware transcoding. I moved it to my Dell R720, did a new fresh windows 10 install, got the server running and used my old box with all my drives as mapped drives to the new server that has my GPU installed. I have tried 128 GB RAM disk and antoher m.2 drive on my new esxi plex host and remotely plays barely transcode or just sit and spin. I have 40 mb upload speeds, and have spent the entire week troubleshooting to no avail. Before I give up and go back to my old box, what am i doing wrong here?

You practically did a hardware downgrade.
You went from Intel Core i7-6500U Benchmark
plus hardware transcoding

to
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Xeon+E5-2620+v2+%40+2.10GHz&id=2051&cpuCount=2
without hardware transcoding.
(You didn’t mention your CPU model, so I used the best possible CPU spec that would fit in that machine.)

That old server does have 2 CPU sockets, yes. And if you sum up the speed of all its cores, you get an overall higher Passmark score than your old i7 has.
BUT, the i7 is still faster in single-threaded loads.
And it has the GPU at its side.

The Dell server has 20 CPUs x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2680 v2 @ 2.80GHz
I used the passthrough with my GPU and was able to use the GPU with it on the VM

I could not figuer it out, went back to my stand alone unit and had 0 issues. I wanted to go the VM route for more control of my environment and stability however it was slower and my remote play was still buffering all the time while using the vm environment.
