Plex on HiSense/Vizio/TiVo/Netcast not Starting

As of about 2 hours ago I can no longer access the Plex app on a Hisense TV, checked on a second Hisense TV which has also stopped, works fine on Roku and phone apps…

Error message

Plex is unable to start due to an error.
Please start by… you know how the rest goes…!

Any idea’s?

Same here. I think in the past when reading up on this I found that Hisense do not have a Plex app, it loads Plex web so this sort of thing can happen but it seems to have always sorted itself out after a while.

First time I’ve seen it happen, fingers crossed it sorts itself out then.

At least one good thing has come out of it, I’ve hardwired up both TV’s to eliminate a wifi issue…

I have the same problem on a Hisense A6200 started this evening. Not sure if it occurred becase of a plex server upgrade I did tonight…

I haven’t run an update today so it seems odd that it affected both…

@AK47UK, describes previous occurrences of this that seemed to sort themselves out. But reading the forum I’d say it’s a bit bigger than just a hisense issue.

Hi all - I am here as this is also happening on my hisense. Works on all other devices and can access plex server from dlna.

First time it’s happened and it’s worked fine for years!

Hello, today if I try to start plex I have the message ‘Plex is unable to start due to an error’. Under of this message say 'Reset plex… If I press the button nothing happens. Remove and install app but nothing… What issue is this?

Same issue using Plex on Tivo Roamio OTA

Having the same issue with my Vizio E32h-c1 tv. It began last night (7/2/2019) Any ideas on how to fix it? Resetting the tv back to factory and reloading did not work.

Exactly the same thing on my Hisense 55A6500. Was working last night (2019/07/02) but tonight “Plex is unable to start due to an error”. All other devices like Roku, mobiles, Win 10 App etc are fine, only the TV app not working

Same issue. Factory reset the TV. Restrted the server. No errors in logs.

Experiencing the same issue, Hisense model 43N6.

Same error on Tivo, Web & Vizio TV. This seems to be an ongoing problem that Plex never responds to!

Same here with an Hisense 55 Serie 6.
Tried reset several times. Restart of router and also of Plex server. Nothing helps.

Same error on Lg Netcast, Factory reset the TV. Reinstall Plex Player. Nothing!!!

Unfortunately the same here. Come on Plex, sort it for us.

I too have the same issue after many years of reliable service. Presumably the latest update broke it.

Why did the Plex app break for all Vizio tvs?

Mine was working fine all day untill about 3:00 PM Eastern time and now I am getting the same error message. I have tried to find an answer but have been unable to.
