I have an issue where after exactly 2h of watching a movie, plex just stops the playback without any error. I can resume it without issues afterwards but it’s extremely annoying and obviously not a desired behaviour. This only happens on my LG TV. All other clients are fine. Has anyone had a similar experience and may be able to shed some light on this issue?
This sounds like a case where PMS could not identify the duration of your video. If you start that video from the beginning, does it show the ending being at exactly 2 hrs? If PMS has to transcode a file and it can’t determine the duration, it uses a default of 2 hrs. There is an advanced/ hidden server setting that can change this duration to something else. The other option is to fix your file. A remux may enough, but may require a re-encode.

Thank you for the reply. This doesn’t seem to be the issue tho. The length of the movie is being recognised just fine. After 2h plex just acts like the movie was played to the end and starts suggesting other content. If I then go back to the menu I can resume the movie where plex stopped it (always at exactly 2h). And I dont think I am transcoding. Im using direkt play and direkt stream and I am playing back at the original resolution (Full-HD & 4k HDR)
I had a similar problem with my LG TV. Always on 2 hours playback would stop and the TV turn off. I thought there was a fault with the TV. Eventually I found a “sleep” or “power setting” set to exactly 2 hours. Changed that and all was OK.
